Our Curriculum

image

Through careful planning following the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum your child can discover, learn and grow at their own pace through fun activities, games, creative play and music.

It is well documented that music has very positive effects on brain development and we use it as a tool to enhance learning. Communication, Language and Literacy skills can develop through role-play and we use the Jolly Phonics and Oxford Reading Tree schemes.

Maths is creative and enjoyable. Creativity is fundamental to successful learning and it enables children to make connections between one area of learning and another.

Skills can develop through intellectually challenging tasks and problem solving.

We are very fortunate to have so much space for your child to enjoy and can provide a balanced physical programme of activities to support gross and fine motor development.  Knowledge and understanding skills that help your child make sense of the world can develop through interesting topics, thus forming the foundation for later work in science, DT, history, geography, and ICT.  Assessment, recording and reporting is ongoing and evidence based and the door is always 'open' for you to have a chat if you have a concern regarding your child.

There is an annual report towards the end of the summer term.
